Hydration and Fluid Intake

The average adult should drink 8 - 8oz. glasses of water daily. The quantity that an athlete requires is greater due to the need to cool the body during activity. In the state of dehydration, the core body temperature will begin to rise resulting in an increased heart rate, dizziness, confusion, and impaired performance.
